Croatian Government at its session held on 29 October 2015 adopted the Decision on the adoption of the Strategy of lifelong guidance and career development 2016 to 2020.
The development and adoption of the Strategy for lifelong career guidance and career development in the Republic of Croatia by the Croatian Government is a first step in the efficient consolidation of the role of lifelong guidance and career management and implementation of lifelong guidance in education systems, systems of employment and social inclusion.
The strategy provides a formal framework for the promotion of lifelong guidance and for supplying high-quality information on career, counseling, guidance and education, and brings together key stakeholders in the development of service delivery by defining their roles and responsibilities, covering the services of lifelong guidance in primary and secondary schools in the field of higher education, in the context of lifelong learning and employability, and in the context of the implementation of the Youth Guarantee.
The strategic priorities are establishing a system for lifelong guidance, tailoring the services of lifelong guidance according to the needs of the labour market and the economy, assuring high quality services for lifelong guidance and raising awareness of the need for lifelong guidance and the development of career management skills. Operation Plan based on the Strategy for lifelong guidance and career development needs to be adopted for the period of two years.
